Arjay N. Viray
Arjay graduated from the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Music Education with emphasis on Choral Conducting from the Philippine Women’s University. As a singer, he was the featured Bass Baritone soloist at the 37th International Bamboo Organ Festival and has represented the Philippines in the World Youth Choir from 2008 to 2011. He has also sung with the Philippine Normal University Chorale from 2001 to 2003, and the Ateneo de Manila College Glee Club from 2005 to 2011.
He has previously worked as Assistant Conductor for Choral Development of the Ateneo de Manila Glee Club, as Musical Director of the Ateneo de Manila High School Glee Club, and the Ateneo de Davao University Glee Club. He has also taught in several institutions in Manila, Davao, and Baguio City where he handled courses in Arts Appreciation, Music Education, and Physical Education.
At present, he is an Executive Council member of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts – Committee on Music. He currently teaches at the Philippine High School for the Arts where he also serves as Music Program Adviser for Junior High School and Coordinator for Arts Education.
